Tristan Kamata
Tristan Kamata is a landscape architect and designer whose work centers on urban resilience. He explores how cities can be designed to withstand natural disasters—including floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis—while enriching everyday urban life. Guided by the principle of “design before disaster,” his practice investigates how public spaces can serve dual purposes: vibrant civic landscapes in daily use and vital infrastructure for disaster preparedness and response. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Davis (2020), and a Master's in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design (2024).
