Aditya Barve
Research Scientist
Aditya coordinates the lab's research in crisis informatics and the development of decision-support tools for disaster resilience. A graduate of MIT's Master of Science in Architecture Studies - Urbanism program, Aditya received his undergraduate degree in architecture from the University of Pune. His research interests straddle the intersections of disaster vulnerability and community resilience, the role of design in disaster preparedness, and climate change mitigation in rapidly changing urban environments.
Aditya's current research is focused on developing a comprehensive decision-support platform for city-scale disaster risk management by leveraging crowdsourcing and AI. He has previously conducted research on housing resilience in low-income neighborhoods, planning strategies for rapidly growing industrial cities, and dual-use neighborhood-scale infrastructure for disaster resilience.
