Tristan Kamata
Tristan Kamata is a landscape architect and designer whose work centers on urban resilience. He explores how cities can be shaped to withstand natural disasters such as floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis while also enriching daily urban life. Guided by the principle of “design before disaster,” his practice examines how public spaces can function both as vibrant civic landscapes and as essential infrastructure for disaster preparedness. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from the University of California, Davis (2020) and a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design (2024).
