The MIT Climate Project has announced leaders for its six Climate Missions, focusing on urgent climate-related areas. Miho Mazereeuw, an associate professor of architecture and urbanism and director of MIT’s Urban Risk Lab, will lead the mission on empowering frontline communities. She specializes in disaster resilience, climate change, and coastal strategies, and her work involves engaging communities and governments in preparedness efforts. This new position builds on Mazereeuw's existing leadership on a project from MIT’s Climate Grand Challenges, aimed at helping communities prepare for extreme weather events.
