Sanriku Project: Seawall Report
This series of design and planning workshops, conducted with individuals representing various local community groups impacted by the 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, focused on the newly planned single-use commercial areas slated to be raised 10 meters above sea level, of Shizugawa, Minami Sanriku. Each participant selected an 800m X 100m section of the new plan, visually documenting their memories, concerns, and hopes for the future, in order to increase communication between official and grass-roots planning efforts.
